We do not publish individual used-tyre lots. Stock changes constantly, so each quotation is prepared for the size, grade and quantity you ask for, with the brands, DOT dates and tread readings of the actual tyres offered.

Confirmed per quotation: maximum tyre age (dot date) accepted; available brands and quantities per size; packing method and quantity per 20ft / 40ft container; minimum order quantity; origin of the tyres.

Packaging and loading: loose-loaded or bundled, sorted by size and grade; minimum order 1,200 tyres; mixed sizes, brands and grades accepted, subject to confirmation. Estimated container quantities are in the table below.

Used tyre grading

Our proposed commercial grading system — not an official international standard. Grades are based on the remaining tread depth and are assigned only after each tyre has been inspected — never automatically.

Proposed used tyre grades by remaining tread depth
GradeRemaining tread depthNotes
A+7 mm or moreHighest tread band in our proposed system.
A6.0 – 6.9 mm—
B5.0 – 5.9 mm—
C4.0 – 4.9 mmLowest band we would offer. Tyres below 4.0 mm are not offered.

A grade describes remaining tread depth only. It is not a certificate of roadworthiness: no used tyre is advertised as roadworthy unless it has been individually inspected, and buyers should have tyres checked under the rules of the destination country before fitting.

Tyres we exclude

Whatever the tread depth, a tyre is not offered if it has any of the following:

  • Remaining tread depth below 4.0 mm at any measured point
  • Cuts, cracks or damage that expose the cords, belts or plies
  • Bulges, blisters or signs of internal separation
  • Sidewall or shoulder punctures, and any repair outside the permitted repair area
  • Damaged, kinked or deformed beads
  • Ageing or ozone cracking, fire, heat or chemical damage
  • Run-flat tyres that have been driven deflated or repaired
  • Tyres with an illegible, removed or altered DOT / date code
  • Regrooved or retreaded tyres, unless specifically requested and declared as such

How tyres are inspected and graded

  1. Each tyre is inspected inside and out before it is graded.
  2. Tread depth is measured with a gauge at several points across the tread and around the circumference; the lowest reading sets the grade.
  3. Brand, model, size, load index, speed rating and DOT date code are recorded from the sidewall.
  4. Tyres that fail any exclusion are removed and not offered.

Import rules: Some countries prohibit or restrict imports of used tyres, or set minimum tread-depth, age or inspection requirements. Please check with the customs authority of the destination country before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

How are used tyres graded?

By remaining tread depth after inspection: A+ 7 mm or more, A 6.0–6.9 mm, B 5.0–5.9 mm and C 4.0–4.9 mm. Our proposed commercial grading system — not an official international standard.

Do you supply used tyres below 4 mm of tread?

No. Tyres below 4.0 mm, and tyres with damage such as exposed cords, bulges, sidewall repairs or bead damage, are excluded whatever their tread depth.

Is a graded used tyre roadworthy?

A grade describes tread depth only and is not a roadworthiness certificate. Buyers should have tyres inspected under the rules of the destination country before fitting.

Can I order mixed brands or mixed sizes in one container?

Yes, you can ask for one size, mixed sizes or mixed brands in a container. Choose the container option in the quotation form.

What is the minimum order and how many tyres fit in a container?

The minimum order is 1,200 tyres. As a planning estimate, a 20FT container holds approximately 1,000–1,500 used passenger-car tyres and a 40FT approximately 2,000–3,000, depending on the sizes and the loading method. These are estimates, not guaranteed capacities: the final quantity is confirmed in the quotation and the loading plan.

How to read a tyre size, load index and speed rating

205width/55aspectRradial16rim91load indexVspeed

205 — section width
Width of the tyre in millimetres, sidewall to sidewall.
55 — aspect ratio
Sidewall height as a percentage of the width (55% of 205 mm ≈ 113 mm).
R — construction
Radial construction. “ZR” marks tyres rated above 240 km/h; “RF” in place of “R” (for example 205/55 RF16) marks a run-flat tyre.
16 — rim diameter
Wheel rim diameter in inches.
91 — load index
Maximum load per tyre at the specified pressure: 91 = 615 kg per tyre. “XL” (extra load) or “RF” (reinforced) after the size marks a higher-load version.
V — speed rating
Maximum speed at the rated load: V = 240 km/h. A service description in brackets, such as (98Y), means the tyre is rated above 300 km/h.

Other markings: 3PMSF (three-peak mountain snowflake) — the tyre meets the EU/UN severe-snow performance test; M+S — mud and snow tread design (no test required); DOT — manufacturing code whose last four digits give the production week and year (for example 2325 = week 23 of 2025); EU tyre label — fuel-efficiency class (A–E), wet-grip class (A–E) and external rolling noise (dB and class A–C) under Regulation (EU) 2020/740.
